[Ky/365 - Project 2010]

A 365 project.

Current Song: Adelitas Way - Invincible.

God I slept in a while today... I didn't wake up until 6pm. And I woke up with the heater blaring in my face, all because I rolled over and mom turned it on to warm the place up while faced it. My bed is right next to it, and honestly I was too tired to give a shit even though it irritated me a little bit. When I woke up I told her about it, and just sat up in my bed asking her how long it was on. It was on about 20 minutes before I finally woke up unable to take it anymore. She had asked me a few times if I was alright because I sat up and stayed there for a good 5 minutes before moving anywhere else. I was just trying to wake up and figure out what time it was and find out all I missed. I slept in because I was up until 7am, becoming habit because of Bethy. She keeps keeping me awake watching movies or playing Left 4 Dead 2. I need to get this back on track, because we might be moving next week. Which in fact, leads me to my latest update on the matter :).

Mom said she had some news, and I talked to her about it. She told me she called Mary Beth today, and that Mary Beth got our paperwork in the mail that Section 8i sent out yesterday. Which was unexpected since we figured it would be a few days until we got it... Even though downtown is relatively close to here, it usually takes a day or two at least. But this was a pleasant suprise to wake up to. Further more... We need to fill out the paperwork and deliver it to the landlord who wants to rent that house out to us. Now here's where it gets interesting. Mary Beth wants us to go see her Monday to pick up the paperwork, and she wants to call the guy who owns the house. She's willing to pay for the hotel until the 18th or so, BUT, she said she would pay our First Month Rent and Security Deposit, as well as two additional months rent IF he will allow us to start moving into the house next week. Now, keep in mind the Section 8 process would consist of the paperwork being given the the landlord, then driven back or mailed back to the Downtown office. Then they'd put us on a small waiting list which will take about 3-4 weeks for the house inspection to take place. Mary Beth wants to try to avoid the wait for that by paying all of this for us, which would be about $3,000 out of her pocket. In doing so we'd be in there prior to it being finalized, in hopes it passes the inspection when they do it.

The downside would be, if it doesn't pass, the landlord would need to fix all of the items they have a problem with on their list, before they come back out a second time to validate he did the repairs. Then we could stay there and Section 8 would pick up a decent portion of the rent. By then, I'd assume Mary Beth would reimbursed a portion of what she paid for us to get the place, but we aren't sure as to when the inspection would take place... So it's hard to say if she'd be refunded anything at all. The good thing about this would be, if it passes or it doesn't pass, there's three solid months there where all we need to be concerned with is the bills and luxury purchases. This three month window will provide us all a means to find a suitable income before we all start living there indefinitely for at least a year. So as it stands, we need to decide what we want to do, and see Mary Beth on Monday to give her our decision. All sings right now point to us trying to move into the house next week, before the inspection is even granted and finalized.

I'm a tad worried about it because this is playing out a bit like when we first moved to Brackenridge. My mom was dating a guy named Dale which me, Bethy, and my now ex girlfriend Kelly said would be a good guy for her. Well, she listened to us, and we had to move out of Penn Hills because that landlord was a douche. Now, what came to be was he found the house in Brackenridge, and said he wanted to move us in before Section 8 inspected it. We did and paid for the First Months Rent, and the Security... Only to have Dale leave and go back to his ex wife three days later - Which was on my Mom's birthday no less. Long story short, Section 8 didn't pass that, and we moved in prior to the inspection because Dale talked us into it. The landlord there said she'd work with us and let us stay there. And when Section 8 came out to inspect it, it didn't pass the inspection. We stayed there a year without her fixing anything in the house except for the broken water heater - And that took her a good 4-6 months to fix, after calling and leaving message after message to no avail. We called the Health Department to try to force her to fix it, and even they couldn't do it. She finally did it out of the blue one day when I was at school working, and shortly after that Mom lost her voucher for Section 8 because of the landlord not fixing anything else.

Due to that, I'm worried about moving in prior to the inspection... But if he says he'll fix it, I hope if it dosen't pass, he does... Otherwise, we're fucked. He seems like a legit guy from what Mom says, but I know how she is with guys, and she never really has any luck with who she meets. It disturbs me, and I'll be crossing my legs the next few weeks hoping I don't take one to the junk with any decision I make, and have us all run away with our tail between our legs. Here's hoping, we need to wait until Monday for any further developments on this... Hello to a boring weekend ahead :/.

Mom then decided after we talked that she wanted to go out and find something for dinner, so when the conversation with her was still going on I texted Steph to tell her what was up. Mom left and was gone a while getting food, and when she got back I was happy with what she picked for dinner. She got us Hot Sausage, and Peppers and Onions, and booooy was I happy for dinner this evening. She got right too cooking when she got back, and my god did this room smell good after she started. I'm sure it carried itself all over the whole second floor here. But damn was it good, and when it finished damn was it tasty. As you can see me above omnomnoming a sausage in what I feel is totally an unattractive picture of me. You can see my eyes pretty well though, so in that regard I think Steph will be happy with it. Other than the fact I look like a complete moron :) Which she is okay with too I might add.

Dinner was good though, and Bethy took a while to wake up. When Mom was out she also got us an extension cord, which allowed us to hook the hotel's TV back up, as well as the wall light closer to the door. This will allow us to watch Cable again, and actually have something worth watching that isn't a movie. Yay for The Weather Channel and Local News! Score!... She also got snack cakes which we didn't fucking need, ugh... I must refrain from eating them, and I will. Because Bethy was asleep I spent the night mostly working on our Left 4 Dead 2 achievements, and by start to finish we went from having 35 or so all the way to 42. There's a total of 50 in the game currently, and this was an all night effort. Even after she woke up I worked on them... I had The Weather Channel and America's Funniest Home Videos on the Cable TV for a while before she woke up, as I was playing. I didn't really pay much attention to any of it, it wasn't that appealing to me, other than the weather report at least. And it's still snowing here, it's been snowing off and on for the past like 5 days almost. This is nuts, the most snow I've seen here in a while.

Bethy watched some stuff on TV, and then found out Ghost Adventures as on, which is a ritual every week... We always try to watch it. It was supposedly a new episode so she watched that, and then caught the beginning again since they replayed it after just to catch what she missed out on. Then she played Left 4 Dead with me for a bit. Mom talked to Nick a few times tonight, mostly when she cooked, and then I think a little bit later when she got online when I was playing. Steph and me talked a little bit tonight too, she was in a better mood, which made me happy. We talked online a little when she got off work, and then a little bit more when I was eating. Mom got back on a little while later and I had Steph call me and talk to me for a decent amount of time before she went to sleep. Then Bethy and me played a bit more, and now she wants to watch Trick or Treat. I decided to run outside and get more hot sausage from the van, I went out with a little bowl and got them out of the van haha... By the time I got back to the hotel door they had snow all over it, but were soooo goood.

Pretty uneventful evening aside from the house news. Sorry for the ramble ahead of this, I just wanted to get it done. Nothing really happened today so there isn't much to talk about in this post other than brief history about old rentals we had, and just random bullshit that happened this evening. My wrists hurt and I just want to finish this post haha. It's going to be another late night because we're going to play and probably watch Trick or Treat. Other than that, that's about it kids. Steph I might see on Tuesday night if all goes well, and she has a baby shower to go to for her friend on Sunday. So she's going to have an eventful weekend. Me? Probably not. But I'm sure I'll find something to do while I wait for the house situation to resolve. I'm going to try to go to Family Video tomorrow and rent some games... Here's hoping I get a chance to get something nice instead of a game I could care less about.

Anyway... Catch you on the flip side of things.
