Current Song: Edgewater - Eyes Wired Shut.
So I slept for a few hours, and woke back up at like 7-8am... Couldn't sleep, Bethy was up too so we were talking for a bit and watching TV before she decided to go back to sleep. I watched some of the 24 previews in high anticipation since the season starts tomorrow... I cannot wait for this, I've waited for so long... Not as long as the Writer's Strike >.< But still long. Steph if I remember correctly said she'd be going into work at 10am, so I texted her around 9-9:30am and we talked for a bit. She had to go though, so that was cut relatively short after we started to talk. I spent the rest of the morning putting up Haiti Relief stuff, and Tweeting and Re-tweeting everything about it that people put up... Not the best thing I could be doing, I'd rather be down there volunteering, but if it gets them more money to help, it works for me. I've been watching a lot of CNN News, watching the aid they're getting and the stories and it just breaks my heart to see that happening to them. They never asked for any of this, but it's just pretty bad that relief is taking so long to get there... It's going in small waves, and they just sent out a military hospital cruise ship to help, but it will be a few days before it gets there to do so. Carrying 42 days worth of food, which can be restocked if need be... I just hope they all make it in time to help out and save as many lives as possible. It's a race against time, and people in the streets sleeping is going to cause unrest... It's almost bound to happen with the way help is arriving in waves. Another thing that happened is they got hit with a 4.5 aftershock sometime earlier this afternoon... They don't need that either :( I hope all gets well for those that need help, and the people still trapped that can still survive. Find them guys, you're the only ones who can do it. Help them, please...
A third thing that happened the past few days is a local groups of girls that went down to Haiti, both are sisters, with one of their husbands back here trying to get them home. They went there to sponsor a orphanage, and they're there with about 150 children that all need food and medical attention as soon as possible. They're sick and in need of treatment, and everything to get them back home is steadily coming into place, but not quick enough. It's the BRESMA Orphanage, BRESMA, for those who are curious, is an acronym for Brebis de Saint-Michel de L'Attalaye. Here's the latest update from one of them along with source and other links. If anyone is local and can help them, please do it.

EDIT:
Please Understand:
Yes, the kids are sick. When I wrote this I wanted people to understand that the battle is not won. BUT, I want to make very clear that things are happening. help is going to them. please do not panic.
END EDIT.
just wanted to give you guys a little update.
i'm sure you all know that the girls were on CNN (Anderson Cooper) last night. even though the show was on at night, they talked to the girls much much much earlier in the day. since then the babies have started to get very sick. the girls have started to get sick. the fact that CNN has found and interviewed them, unfortunately, doesn't mean much. CNN couldn't bring them water and supplies. they don't have any to give. while being on CNN does get the word out and gives them great media coverage, it doesn't mean they are safe. or ok.
so many of you have offered up planes. who knew getting a private plane was this easy? as of right now, the proper people at the highest levels are working on it. if we need one, we'll definitely let you know. trust me. at this time, i think we've got it covered.
so many of you are offering up going to haiti on this private plane. no one is needed at this time. if we need more we'll definitely let you know.
the thing everyone needs to understand is that it's not just as easy as getting a private jet and sending some local heroes. i really really really (really) wish that it was. that would be fairly easy. there is SO much red tape and legal issues that we have to go through. that we are going through. we have the most qualified people in the world offering to go down and save them, but they can't get in the country right now.
really i just can't express how overwhelmed and grateful i am that everyone is chipping in and so willing to help. but, the things that you can do to help really just stay the same. call your senators. and donate. the senators and political higher ups are now involved. but, that doesn't mean that you should stop harassing them. we need them to stay involved. we need them to stay passionate about this cause. especially now that it's the weekend. so please just keep calling. call and call and call and call. email and email and email.

call your local representative. and then call them and call them and call them again. Also call Jason Altmire. He's been working on this a lot. So please thank him for his work so far, and ask him to continue.

after you're done calling, you can donate.
this is how you can donate to Jamie, Ali, and BRESMA
http://www.centeroflife.net/haiti/index.html
Or you can donate to a number of other non profits that are trying to help Haiti.
text "yele" to 501501 to donate $5 to Wyclefs charity.
text "haiti" to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross.
everyone in Haiti needs our help.
if you want to bring some children supplies for IF the kids of BRESMA do end up coming to PGH you can bring the proper supplies to this address:
1212 W. North Ave
PGH, PA 15233
between the hours of 11AM and 8PM.
if you are willing to help us.... that's what we need. calling, emailing, donating money and supplies, and getting the word out about BRESMA and Haiti. we don't need planes, foster families, temporary homes, or adoptive families at this time. big things are happening between big people. which is what we wanted. but, we are in no way out of the woods. not even close.
here is a little snippet from an email that I got from Jamie and Ali:
"i was able to read some of the things online tonight, and its too much for words obviously, i dont know how you can tell everybody thank you or if you even have time for that, it might just be impossible. but we are still so so scared."
they cannot believe that this many people are fighting for them. i know it really helps them a lot to know that you're all trying to help.
i really hope that this note doesn't make us come across ungrateful in any way. we are so thankful. when we first started to get the word out about this and try to help them we had no idea it would lead to this. we're so overwhelmed, scared, and hopeful.
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for everything. we promise to keep you guys updated.
just to wrap this up, please remember the most important thing you can do right now is call your senators and representatives, THANK THEM for their work already and ask them to continue pressing.
keep hoping.
ali.

It's just such a shame, I've been following this nonstop since it happened. Just waiting for a chance to go down and either help them out somehow, or finding some other ways to assist them... And while today I'm doing some other stuff to assist them, I still feel like I could be doing a lot more. Ah well :/... Hopefully something opens up... Around 1-1:30pm or so, Bethy woke up. I was doing a pen giveaway entry for all of us since it was on Slick Deals the past few days and I have missed out on every single opportunity to get one since it's been posted. It was set to start Noon Central, so I took the time to enter all of us for one. Got in too, which is excellent :). Me and Bethy then went on a food run to the van after 2pm, got some Burritos and more stuff to eat, then came up and made it. The snow's melting here, so it's going to get warmer out. It's really nice outside here today, I went out without the coat Steph bought me, and it just felt really nice. Like a brisk and refreshing summer day. We came in and ate, and Steph and me talked off and on the past few hours, only for her to call me on her break, which I believe was like... 2:30pm or so. Since she's given less hours on the weekend she gets a shorter break and goes home earlier, so we didn't get to talk very long. When we got off me and Bethy watched some TV... More stuff on Haiti, some P90X/Insanity stuff which is something we'd both like to try. Insanity appears like a new add-on to the P90X package but it's sold separately, also seems like it can work so who knows... Could be fun, but very demanding of your body. Still, we'd like to try it and see where it gets us. Me and Steph already plan to diet when we get the new house, and we want to eat healthier for my sake. Bethy likes the idea, and we'll probably all do it... Just the problem is getting Mom to stop buying so much junk food that she calls her "Lusciousness"... Just leave it alone, we don't need it.
Speaking of the house, still no calls on that, and still no calls from Mom either, so we don't know what the fuck is going on with anything... So here's hoping we hear something today or tomorrow.
Updates throughout the day.
Simple Edit: I spent a very good portion of the day yesterday tweeting about the Haiti stuff. After finding some stuff online about Vonage offering free 10 minute calls from the US to Haiti for subscribers and non-subscribers, I took it under my wing to get the word out. I hope it's helped people... I also went and had a bunch of other things added for news feeds on the Haiti disaster, so I can keep upto date on the information in real time... I've also been re-tweeting like crazy all damn day in hopes it gets somewhere, and apparently it has. Just look at what's happened so far.

All of those people replied and re-tweeted my posting to get the word out... (Somehow I forgot one other reply to me... Which was from InternetHaiti which isn't in the above image, damn me). And many more re-tweets of mine followed with other stuff that was going on. Too much to post, but it wa sall for a good cause. Plenty of stuff on food and water shortages, and me trying to get the word out so people know about it. BRESMA announcements, and trying to help them help the orphans. I'm doing the best I can for what I have to offer at the moment, I'm hoping it helps someone out.
As the night went on, I ended up dozing off until Mom called us around 10pm, saying she wasn't coming back. Bethy woke me up to tell me she called and to help her with a can opener that sucks at doing it's pathetic job. She texted Steph, but no answer, so I got on and texted her. Turns out she fell asleep while she went to read which was 20 minutes prior or so to me texting her. Then basically all that happened is we talked on the phone for a few hours, it was kind of a distant kind of thing. We've both been out of it and tired, and things have been happening left and right with each other... So we're neglecting to have a worthwhile conversation. It happened since she left the other night, we just haven't been upto par with talking I guess. We promised each other tomorrow we'd spend a lot of time talking before, and after work. So we plan to do that :). Also posted on the 24 Forum to provide the idea for a Haiti relief ad before the premiere starts tomorrow night.
I got tired, and went to bed around 2:30am, or 3am... Bethy and me were up watching some TV but got tired of it and decided to sleep. I was in the middle of doing things online, but started dozing. Ended up setting the laptop aside and I dozed. Bethy woke me up a few minutes later saying to close it, but I woke back up and finished what I was doing. I was drooling over this new Viper I saw, check this baby out.

GRR I want it, only 33 made... So bad... -Drool-...
That's all folks, I'm going to take my pants off and get down to my boxers because my Mom took my damn shorts to wash them, so I don't have any here since I already wore them to Steph's place. Grr... Looks like I'll be sleeping in boxers to be comfortable, just to get out of these fucking jeans.
Night all.
