[Ky/365 - Project 2010]

A 365 project.

Current Song: The Spill Canvas - Saved PV Session (Acoustic).

Today, I haven't had a good sleep... I mean I felt refreshed the first two times I went to bed, and woke back up again. But the third time I did it, I just feel so damn sluggish and tired today. I went to bed at 4:30am, and woke back up probably around 6am. Then maybe 7am... And I finally got out of bed around 10:45am to find Bethy up and on her laptop. We got to talking about the house, and how today sucks because we still don't know anything about what's going on. And that Mom's asleep and we need to go and get the paperwork off of Mary Beth to see what we're going to do about the house. Steph's coming tonight probably around 10pm, which sucks because she gets off at 8pm, and probably won't leave her place until around 9pm and I want to see her NOW, grr.

We're not doing much, I suggested Chinese, then Taco Bell, and then Movie Gallery. I don't really care what we do, I just don't want to be cooped up in this damn hotel room all day. I am considering going to the exercise room sometime today, before Steph comes just because it might make me feel better, but I don't know if I want to or not. The room really has nothing to offer you for a workout, just like three machines all of which probably aren't that great anyway. So now as it stands Mom slept, and I got on here to talk to Steph before she went to work. Bethy got on the Xbox 360 and played some Sonic and Frogger, and then she got bored of it because she wasn't doing well. I made Chicken Noodle soup, and Bethy was on Mom's laptop for a bit while I was on hers. Mom eventually woke up and we talked shorty about what we wanted to do today, and nothing is definite other than the paperwork. Since I need to sign it and everything before I leave tonight with Steph.

So as it stands, we need to... Get the paperwork, and whatever else happens will come with time I guess. Seems like a pretty boring day so far, but tonight will be good at least. I can't wait to see Steph... I missed her so damn much :)!

That's about it, edits throughout the day.

And one more thing before I disappear, that title is from Nickelback's If Today Was Your Last Day. A very inspirational music video, that I feel definitely deserves a watch! Here's the embed copy, so go ahead and watch it.

Simple Edit: I suggested about lunch or dinner, and Mom mentioned chinese should have their lunch special. She didn't say anything about going, she just said they'd have it, and upon asking her she kind of blew it off, so we weren't sure what we were doing. Regardless, she asked us to get ready to go, and Bethy got her shower and then we left. We started to drive over towards the K-Mart to see if the Chinese food restaurant there was open. Unfortunately, it closed permanently, and we couldn't eat there. So I said forget it for now, let's go to the shelter to see Mary Beth. We went up to Mary Beth's to get the paperwork at about 3:30pm, we were there for about a half an hour or so. People were there for Crisis and Liheap, and it was just one big mess.

The help they'd normally get for the holidays to turn their electric or their heat back on, they'd usually be in an out at these agencies that sponsor those programs... But they weren't, and one guy was at the shelter since 1:30... That's a good 3-4 hour wait almost. From what the person in charge of those programs said after we got there, they switched from the internet application medium back to how they used to do it, which was paperwork that they'd need to go over on a more time consuming level. I felt bad for them, because they've been there most of the afternoon and we got there and we were already being see. Sure, they were two different people... Mary Beth and another lady, but that was utterly pathetic on their part, taking care of everyone. And it wasn't Mary Beth's fault, I'm not blaming her. It was the other woman's doing, plus the fact she never answers her cellphone... Makes for a real good person in charge of operations there, let me tell you.

We were there for about a half an hour like I said, and Mary Beth was busy running errands and talking to people about their issues they needed help with. She gave us the paperwork and kept apologizing because she was so busy today. She wanted to know if we needed anything else before we left, and Mom mentioned about her calling Newt to see what happened with him talking to his friend about the Section 8 program. She was on the phone already, she got an important call she needed to take, and said she'd call as soon as she was done talking with them, and she'd come and get us to make the call. Well, she never came to get us, she was cheering in the back, and started talking about the Happy Dance, and came out to see us. She said "Jane, have you ever seen me do the Happy Dance?", and me and Mom were just like, what the hell? XD Apparently, she said the guy who was supposed to do the Section 8 inspection was also the SAME DAMN GUY the church was going to send there to inspect it. So it passed with three minor problems, all of which Newt bought the parts for, and plan to fix in a day or two. So it passed, they just need to go back out and reinspect it to make sure the repairs were completed :)! Awesome news right?! And we were expecting the inspection to take 3-4 weeks based on what Section 8 and Mary Beth told us, needless to say we were all pleasantly surprised and utterly speechless by the end of this.

Mom started crying, and I just sat there with a big smirk on my face saying "Thank You" to no end. She needed to get back to work, and we both got up and hugged her. She really pulled through for us, and while we've all had our doubts on her, I'd say they are now since unvalidated. I am so happy for this, I plan to ask her about volunteer work just to do something in return for her help. I need to run it by her sometime in the next few days. But the house, for all intents and purposes, is now ours to have within a few days. We figure we will have the key sometime this week. Bethy was sitting in the car when were went to Mary Beth's and we walked outside, and got in the van. Mom was still crying, and I just said "Hey Bethy? - WE GOT IT!", and a series of speechless and happiness emotions ensued. We didn't know what to do or say about it, so I texted Steph as Mom drove around aimlessly, as we headed towards a Chinese food restaurant that Linda from the shelter mentioned that was in the other part of Lower Burrell in the one shopping center. I told Steph to call me as I needed to talk to her, and she called and we talked for about 4 minutes before she had to go back to work. She was psyched about it, but was also speechless... She thought it was bad news that I had to tell her, and she was pretty damn happy when it wasn't bad news :).

When I got off with her, Mom called Nick and told him, and he was happy for us. She still drove aimlessly towards the river by where we used to live, along with the houses that we saw a few days ago. The river was beautiful, maybe that's why she went there... I'm not sure, but she drove down by there anyway, and it was so cool... I've never ever seen the river frozen over like it was. The snow covered just about 95% of the entire river there, it was amazing... She got off with Nick and drove to the Chinese place where we had an awesome dinner, it was so damn good there. We ate like two plates of food each. I tried some new stuff, some being Seafood Bread, and Cheesy Crab (Which I had before at the one in Ohio with Steph, but it wasn't nearly as good at this place did it), and they had their own Coconut Chicken which was SPECTACULAR! Few other things that I can't recall right now, but if I remember I'll list them. The Wanton Soup was very disappointing thougj :( It was overdone, and blah... Bethy noticed some stuff they were selling which were ornament type things that they made, and they were selling for $5, she got one when we were leaving, along with some type of handmade flower for $3. I wanted some but they can wait until another time.

When we left there, we got in the parking lot and I signed the paperwork. Mom called Newt to see if we could the house today and drop it off, but unfortunately he wasn't going to be there if we came. So he said Tomorrow or Thursday would be best. I'm going away to be with Steph until Thursday night or so, and we plan to do it sometime Thursday if all goes well. When that was done I got back to the hotel at what seemed to be 6:30 or so, turned on the TV to breaking news in Haiti, there was a 7.0 Quake there, and I was floored... They don't deserve that :( I know there's bound to be a lot of casualties, I just hope for the most part, everyone is alright. I also heard earlier this week about one in California, I hope everyone's alright there too... I mean they get them all the time, they can deal with them. One in Haiti just... I mean wow :/.

I ended up dozing off, Mom asked me what time I wanted up, and I said 8. She didn't wake me up, and I woke up at 9pm. Now, mind you Steph was already off work. I should have messaged her prior to dozing off, which I regret not doing... When I woke up at 9pm, she was already home and waiting for me to get on to tell her to come, and she waited a good half an hour for me to tell her. Mom was asleep, and Bethy was the only one awake saying she was happy I was finally up, who a few minutes later fell asleep herself. So it was just me, and I got on to talk to Steph to tell her to come, and she left to be on her way. Mom woke up and called Nick, or vice versa, I don't remember which... They talked for a bit, I got a shower, and Steph showed up sometime around... 10:45pm or so. Mom was outside smoking, and Steph didn't bump into her and came directly to the room instead. She stayed for a bit, and Mom came back to the room, and we watched some food shows on TLC for a good half an hour almost, and then we left. Bethy was asleep, but we woke her before we left to say goodbye, and said goodbye to Mom too and left to head back to Steph's place. We talked a lot on the way back about the house and everything else, it wasn't a bad drive. It was when she was coming here though, no one to talk to which is always boring and irritating I'm sure... I feel bad for that :/.

The ride there was alright though, and when we got back towards her place we stopped at Giant Eagle to get some stuff she needed to get. We got some Chips and stuff to make Crab Fettuccine for dinner some night when I'm here, along with some Sweet Tea that we so love to drink... Which I am starting to love more than Turner's, can you believe it? I used to drink Turner's all the time, it was my crack refreshment. Other than that I got a Pepsi Throwback which I love so much, and she got herself some Mexican type of beverage... Mandarin thingy. Then we went to her house, and her Dad was asleep, and her Aunt just decided to sleep over which we were pissed about. Her Dad wants to keep the new furniture in the living room in good condition, which I don't blame him for. He doesn't want anyone laying on it for very long, and she was sprawled across it like she owned the thing. We had some chips and dip and drank our pop then we went to bed.

Pretty nice night though... ;) I had a lot of fun.

And for future reference to look back on this in the future... THREE. -Cough-.

And because we got the house, that makes 49 more things left of my list! Added to 50in52.

Catch you later ;D!
